Nella società dell’immagine viene chiesta contemporaneamente l’omologazione e la perfezione: sottomettersi a canoni di bellezza, a modelli che fanno passare i media e i social, un circolo vizioso distruttivo per la personalità e la specificità dell’essere. Io credo invece che si possa essere belli senza rispettare i modelli preconfezionati, cioè essere autentici e unici nell’armonia.
Centinaia di anni fa l’arte viveva grazie al ritratto su misura. L’artista era costretto a celebrare il potere e la ricchezza della famiglia aristocratica, trasformando il nobile in un’icona di prestigio appartenente a un ceto superiore, influenzando così la percezione pubblica.

Il ritratto potevano permetterselo in pochi. Poi è arrivata l’arte dei mercanti che fattura sull’attribuzione di valore all’ opera tramite una manipolazione interpretativa della comprensione estetica.

“Il valore dell’opera d’arte non è mai separabile dal valore dei suoi certificatori”, ha scritto Pierre Bourdieu.
Oggi invece l’arte non è il mercato ma il processo di liberazione alla creatività che surclassa la banalità e ripetitività della società dei consumi.
Oggi vivere nella bellezza è la risposta a un mondo brutale, stupido, banale, fatto di volgarità.
L’arte serve alle persone. E’ il singolo che affronta la strada dell’immaginazione. Nel mio settore la persona vuole la riproduzione, la modifica o la trasformazione di una parte del proprio corpo perché la sente inadeguata oppure la vuole sviluppare in una direzione.
Come consulente permetto di realizzare un’opera unica che si può indossare nella confusione tra reale e immaginario. La creazione artistica è sempre un gioco ambiguo tra realtà e invenzione. Salvador Dalì ha detto: “La mia ambizione è quella di contribuire, con la mia opera, a rendere sempre più chiaro il confine che separa la realtà dalla finzione, per poi dimostrare che questo confine non esiste.” L’arte deve definire i confini per poi dissolverli.

Io cerco di restituire questa dissoluzione eccezionale, cioè la creatività, la possibilità che tu stesso possa vivere nella creatività ed essere creatività. E’ la differenza tra vivere e morire in una città americana senza storia e fatta di muri di cartongesso e vivere e morire a Roma a contatto con l’arte e la Cappella Sistina.

Ognuno di noi può sognare di diventare un’opera d’arte.
L’arte fa questo, ti cambia la vita. Quando esiste, il giorno prima eri una cosa, quello dopo sei un altra. La difficoltà iniziale sta nell’apprendistato totale a questa attività, nell’assimilare la tradizione (disegno accademico, lavoro sui materiali, tecniche scultoree, uso dei software, ecc…) ma senza esserne schiavo. La tecnica è la grammatica senza la quale non si può scrivere poesia.
“Bisogna saper bene il mestiere, ma il mestiere non è tutto; anzi è nulla, se non è animato dallo spirito”, ha detto Giorgio De Chirico.

O come Picasso: “Impara le regole come un professionista, così potrai infrangerle come un artista”.

People Change When They Wear a Work of Art

In today’s image-driven society, we are asked simultaneously to conform and to be perfect: to submit to beauty standards and models promoted by the media and social networks. This creates a destructive vicious circle that undermines personality and the specificity of being. I believe, instead, that it is possible to be beautiful without adhering to pre-packaged models—that is, to be authentic and unique within harmony.

Hundreds of years ago, art thrived through the custom-made portrait. The artist was compelled to celebrate the power and wealth of aristocratic families, transforming the noble figure into an icon of prestige belonging to a higher social class, thus shaping public perception.

Only a few could afford a portrait. Later came the art of merchants, generating profit through the attribution of value to artworks by manipulating aesthetic interpretation.

“The value of a work of art is never separable from the value of those who certify it,” wrote Pierre Bourdieu.
Today, however, art is no longer the market, but a process of liberation through creativity—one that surpasses the banality and repetition of consumer society. Today, living within beauty is a response to a brutal, foolish, and vulgar world.

Art serves people. It is the individual who embarks on the path of imagination. In my field, a person seeks the reproduction, modification, or transformation of a part of their own body because they perceive it as inadequate or wish to develop it in a different direction.

As a consultant, I enable the creation of a unique, wearable artwork that exists in the confusion between the real and the imaginary. Artistic creation is always an ambiguous game between reality and invention. Salvador Dalí said: “My ambition is to contribute, with my work, to making ever clearer the boundary between reality and fiction, in order to then demonstrate that this boundary does not exist.”
Art must define boundaries in order to dissolve them.

I seek to restore this exceptional dissolution—that is, creativity itself, the possibility for a person to live within creativity and to become creativity. It is the difference between living and dying in a historyless American city made of drywall, and living and dying in Rome, in direct contact with art and the Sistine Chapel.

Each of us can dream of becoming a work of art.
This is what art does: it changes your life. When it exists, the day before you were one thing, the day after you are another. The initial difficulty lies in total apprenticeship—absorbing tradition (academic drawing, work with materials, sculptural techniques, use of software, etc.) without becoming enslaved by it. Technique is the grammar without which poetry cannot be written.

“One must know the craft well, but craft is not everything; indeed, it is nothing if it is not animated by spirit,” said Giorgio de Chirico.

Or, as Picasso put it: “Learn the rules like a professional, so you can break them like an artist.”
